Smith Recognized for Life Time Contributions in Science.

[HOUSTON, TX, August 5, 2020] Reid G. Smith, Co-Founder and CEO of i2k Connect Inc., earned the lifetime distinction of AAAS Fellow, in honor of his contributions to science and technology. The honor specifically recognizes “significant contributions to distributed problem solving and knowledge management, and for leadership and entrepreneurship in industrial applications of artificial intelligence.”

Fellows are elected each year by their peers serving on the Council of AAAS, the organization’s member-run governing body. The 2019 group will receive official certificates in a ceremony on February 15, 2020, during the AAAS Annual Meeting in Seattle.

The honor recognizes Smith in the Section on Information, Computing and Communication.

His Ph.D. advisor, Bruce Buchanan, adds, “This award from AAAS recognizes Reid’s many achievements and the high standards he brings to every aspect of his work over his long career.”

Reid G. Smith, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO, i2k Connect Inc. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and is a Fellow of AAAI, and now AAAS.
